From our workshop in rural Herefordshire, we design and make bespoke tables, desks, bookcases, storage and one-off furniture for homes, interior designers and businesses across the UK.

Our story
Nuthatch Creations began in 2024 when Matt left a 25-year career teaching Geography to build a healthier working life around trees, craftsmanship and practical creativity.
Matt has always loved working with wood. Lara brought a background in sculpture, a love of British wildlife and an eye for thoughtful, functional design. Together, from our small workshop in Bromyard, Herefordshire, we create furniture that celebrates the beauty and character of British-grown timber.
We believe furniture should do more than fill a space. It should work beautifully for the people who use it, connect them with the materials it is made from and be built to remain part of their lives for years to come.
Know where your tree grew
British timber is at the heart of Nuthatch Creations.
We use British-grown wood sourced through regional sawmills and well-managed woodlands. As a Grown in Britain Chain of Custody certified business, we offer a transparent connection between the finished piece and the landscape that produced its timber.
We hand-select wood for its grain, character and suitability for each commission. Every table also comes with a certificate of provenance showing where in the UK its tree grew.
Choosing British timber helps support woodland management, regional sawmills, rural skills and a more resilient home-grown timber industry.
For interior designers, architects and commercial clients
We work collaboratively with interior designers, architects and businesses to create one-off furniture for considered interiors.
We can work from an established brief or help develop the piece with you, providing clear quotations, material guidance and tailored designs. Each commission can be adapted to suit exact dimensions, access requirements, preferred heights, storage needs, awkward spaces and the wider character of the room.
Furniture is handcrafted in our Herefordshire workshop and can be delivered and installed in its intended space. We welcome individual commissions as well as conversations about ongoing project partnerships.
